More About Us

Nonviolent Communication Initiatives (NVCI), Tanzania was established in Nov. 2019. We want to facilitate and support the spread of Nonviolent Communication in our country. Our aim is to create connection, cooperation, and collaboration within different ethnic, religious, and social groups.

Non-Violent Communication Initiative (NVCI) the Tanzania NGO is there to promote peaceful co-existence between the various ethnic, religious, and social groups. This is pursued through the promotion of Non-Violent Communication. One group vulnerable to violent communication is children. Our NGO is, therefore, working to prevent the mistreatment of children through violent communication.

With Nonviolent Communication (NVC) we learn to hear our own deeper needs and those of others. Through its emphasis on deep listening—to ourselves as well as others—NVC helps us discover the depth of our own compassion. This language reveals the awareness that all human beings are only trying to honor universal values and needs, every minute, every day.

NVC can be seen as both a spiritual practice that helps us see our common humanity, using our power in a way that honors everyone's needs and a concrete set of skills that help us create life-serving families and communities.
